Because of the nature of our semi scratch modeling kits and chapter installments, all sales must be treated as final. The following policy is designed to be clear, enforceable, and consistent with what was stated in your product documentation: no returns, no exchanges, and no refunds. This protects the integrity of the project and ensures fairness to all builders who participate in limited-run releases.

Our No-Return Policy

All Sales Are Final

All products sold by Portland Scale Ship Co., including full kits, chapter releases, wood versions, accessories, and specialty components, are considered final sale. Once an order is placed, it cannot be returned, refunded, exchanged, or canceled.

Why Returns Are Not Accepted

• Kit components are manufactured in small runs and allocated to builders in sequence.
• Wood species vary naturally; returning materials compromises inventory consistency.
• Chapter installments are custom cut per order and cannot be resold once shipped.
• Specialty woods, MDF components, and laser-cut parts cannot be restocked once opened or handled.
• These products support a structured group build and rely on accurate stock management.

Refund Policy

No Refunds for Any Reason

We do not offer refunds under any circumstances, including but not limited to:

• Ordering the wrong chapter
• Ordering the wrong wood type
• Change of preference after purchasing
• Inability to complete the model
• Dissatisfaction with your own build results
• Duplicate orders
• Misunderstanding that this is not a traditional mass-produced kit

Digital Plans Are Not Provided

As stated in the project documentation, plans are only available through Model Ship World. Portland Scale Ship Co. does not sell, ship, print, or provide plans. Because plans are independent from purchased materials, no refunds are given for any misunderstanding related to plan access.

Replacement of Damaged Components

Replacement Is Limited and Conditional

While we do not accept returns or exchanges, in the rare event that an item arrives damaged in transit, we will review the situation and determine whether a replacement part can be provided.

Eligibility Requirements

To request a replacement part for shipping damage:

• You must notify us within 48 hours of delivery.
• Clear photos of the damaged packaging and component must be provided.
• Damage must have occurred during shipping; issues caused during building are not covered.
• Replacement is provided for the damaged component only, not the entire kit or chapter.

Portland Scale Ship Co. reserves the right to deny replacement requests if damage appears unrelated to transit.

Cancellations

Orders Cannot Be Canceled

Once an order is placed, it immediately enters the production and fulfillment workflow. Because installments and parts are cut, prepared, and packaged specifically for each builder, cancellations are not allowed.

Exchanges

No Exchanges for Any Reason

We do not offer exchanges, including:

• Changing wood species
• Switching chapters
• Swapping for different future installments
• Exchanging for another model or accessory

All selections must be made carefully at checkout.

International Orders

All International Sales Are Final

International shipping involves additional costs, transit variance, and customs processes. For this reason:

• No returns
• No refunds
• No exchanges
• No reimbursement for customs fees, VAT, duties, or import charges

The buyer is responsible for all import requirements of their country.
